A little self love goes a long way, but it is easy to just let things slide. Just pile on some makeup and off you go. But that is not what your skin needs. Your skin needs you to care, that is why it is called skincare. It is something that needs to be maintained on a regular basis, like a pet, or a plant or a kid. The truth is, we have relationships with everything in our lives. So, why not with our own skin?
Self love is not selfish. It isn’t possible to love everyone else and hate yourself. Either you are loving across the board, or not. So if you choose to be loving, then include yourself in that.
So, what does your skin need to feel loved?
The basics, like cleansing and moisture every day, preferably morning and evening. When it is cold and windy, you need protective creams that stop your skin from freeze drying. In the summer you need SPF cream. That is a non-negotiable. Makeup is only optional. While it makes you feel better about how you look, it doesn’t really benefit your skin very much. If you really want to pamper your skin, an occasional mask or scrub can do wonders and bring back a youthful glow.
It isn’t wrinkles that make us look old. It is dry, dull skin, and we have the power to do something about that. Are you confused about what products to include in your daily skincare routine?
