Why Use Face Oil?

Do You Like Face Oil on Your Skin?

The idea of putting shiny, greasy oil on my face never appealed to me. But, this was before I started making my own products. As I learned about skin and ingredients, I actually had to change my negative perception about face oil, because my skin loves a bit of oil!

Harsh environments, with dry weather, wind or cold really affect the health of your skin! It can strip away the natural oil reserves and leave the skin dry and unprotected. This is one of the main reasons why we end up with wrinkles.

We have all seen what happens to a peach that sits on the counter too long. The longer it sits there, the more water evaporates from the surface, and the more wrinkly it becomes. It is actually a miracle that we can go through 40-50 years of harsh conditions without more than a few lines to show for it. Unfortunately, the more we neglect the skin, the more obvious it becomes, especially when we hit 50+…

Young Skin can Survive Neglect

Young people produce natural oils that protect the skin from the elements. Therefore, young people can get away with neglecting their skin. But, as we become older, the skin is no longer naturally protected from harsh weather.

This is where skincare becomes so important. When we can no longer count on natural oil production to protect the skin, water begins to evaporate, and the result is WRINKLES!!!

So, how do we reverse this process? We can most definitely delay it by using products that are made to penetrate into the deeper levels of the skin. Preferably products that can repair and maintain the skin’s lipid barrier.

Rejuvenating Face Oil by Green Beauty

Why Do We Need Face Oil?

Adding moisture to the skin is not always enough in itself. If you don’t seal it in, it evaporates before the day is over. What we need, in addition to moisture, is oil. The best oils for sealing in moisture and repairing damage, are Abyssinian oil, apricot, avocado, macadamia, olive squalene and rosehip seed oil. These are oils you’ll find in my Rejuvenating Face Oil formula. They are all very light oils that won’t leave your skin looking shiny. It only takes a few drops of oil to cover the whole face. Within minutes, the oil penetrates into the skin so you can apply makeup on top.

Face oil can even benefit people with oily skin, or people who are prone to breakouts, by balancing the natural oil production. You just have to make sure that the face oil you are using isn’t too heavy. Heavy oils and butters can clog your pores, so if you are prone to breakouts, stay away from coconut oil, shea and cocoa butter.

So, once I discovered that the benefits of using face oil actually outweighed my predetermined dislike for oils on my skin, I ended up loving my own face oil formula, so much so that I can’t imagine going a single day without it. So, if you are struggling with dry skin, you might want to give it a try…
