Have you ever tried a collagen cream, only to find that it didn’t do anything for your wrinkles? Yep, it is true, collagen creams are a waste of money for the simple reason that the molecules are too big to penetrate the skin!
What is collagen?
Collagen is the name of a protein that supports the skin and gives it elasticity and thickness. As we get older, the collagen in the skin starts to break down. The result is lose skin and wrinkles. So collagen is essential for smooth, younger looking skin. But putting collagen in a cream, is not the solution because the molecules are too big to penetrate the skin. This is why all so called collagen creams are a ripoff. So, don’t waste any money on those.
When collagen starts to break down in the skin, it turns into shorter chains called peptides. These peptides act as a signal to tell the body that the collagen is breaking down. This, in turn, stimulates the body into creating more collagen.
Peptide Creams can stimulate collagen production
The idea behind peptide creams is that the peptides will trick the body into producing more collagen, just like the body’s own peptides do. And the good news is that the peptides are small enough to penetrate deep into the skin! The results are not immediate, but over time, most people can see a difference in wrinkle depth. Others believe that it is more beneficial to take collagen as a supplement. Maybe both are correct…
Increased collagen levels can:
- reduce joint pain
- create stronger nails & hair
- increase skin hydration after about 8 weeks
- increase collagen density after about 4 weeks
- give your skin clearer complexion
- increase skin firmness and hydration
If you want to ingest collagen to increase your collagen levels, there are two easy options to choose from. Either buy a supplement and use it daily, or use bone broth in your cooking. Bone broth is a wonderful tasty liquid that you can buy in any super market, and it is full of natural collagen that the body can use to repair itself.
Personally, I believe that the best approach is to use a peptide cream as well as ingesting collagen. That way, your skin can heal itself from the inside and from the outside at the same time.
All peptide creams are not made equal
The first thing you have to look for in a peptide cream is what percentage of peptides the cream contains. The manufacturer could put two drops of peptides into the cream and still call it a peptide cream. But that isn’t going to have any positive effect on your skin.
The recommended percentage of Argireline in skincare formulations is 2-10%. In my Green Beauty peptide cream, you will find close to 10% of Argireline.. Argireline is an expensive ingredient, which is why my peptide cream costs more than my other moisturizers. And that is also why other companies are tempted to put less of it in.
I also use a rice peptide in my cream. The rice peptides contains an enzyme that stops your collagen fibers from breaking down. This makes the combination of Argireline and rice peptides ideal, because it helps slow down the formation of wrinkles.
Other Antiaging Ingredients
I can also mention two other beneficial ingredients that give my peptide cream added antiaging effect. I use bio-fermented sea kelp and micro algae extract. The micro algae extract has an instant skin tightening effect that improves skin texture and appearance. And the bio-fermented sea kelp is full of phyto-nutrients. These nourish the skin, keep the moisture levels high, and have anti-inflammatory properties.
All of this makes the peptide cream perfect for the eye area. The skin around the eyes is delicate and wrinkles easily, and the peptides can stimulate collagen formation and keep the skin tight and moisturized.
In case you are wondering, this product is safe to use even if you have sensitive eyes. The peptide cream is also available as a sample. CLICK HERE to buy now…
